if you check here frequently to read my little quibbles, you may have run into some strange nastiness. this is not my fault.

due to the fact that i've given up my website to a shared server, for cost and maintenance considerations, occasionally the database that drives several parts of the site will go down or become overloaded by some other website on my server. when this happens, you will see weird error codes that say something about how MySQL can't make a connection, error zero, ERROR ZERO! run for your lives!!

ahem.

please ignore such errors and try again later. in the future, when i have significant time and interest, i will program in some error handling code that manages such unfortunate circumstances. it will say nice things like, "i'm sorry but the page you are trying to access is current unavailable due to a database connectivity issue. please try again later." instead of the more or less incomprehensible, and overly dramatic, PHP errors that you currently see.
