my electricity bill, which had rocketed up to $119 only a couple months ago (i live alone so this is a ridiculous number) is only $56 this month. while this is still more than it should be, i have made much progress. turning off lights, being conscious of electricity usage, these things have saved me. also, not letting my girl crank up the expensive wall heaters the moment she walks in the door and saying things like, "put on a sweater!" have helped.
it is good that my bills are going down because, as i may have mentioned, i could be out of a job in a week or two. the company i work for runs out of money around April 15th and if we don't get new funding from our investors, we're sunk. the good news is that the money is there and the investors sound very positive about giving it to us. but, having gone through this situation several times, i know that the check in our grubby little hands is the only thing that matters. we'll hear probably by the end of next week. and then, i'll either be contentedly employed or looking for work again. whatever happens, it'll be good to have the uncertainty out of the way before i go on vacation.
speaking of my vacation, you're all invited to come along. well, not really. but my birthday is on the last day we're in Vegas and since i'm probably not going to have a party when i get back, i'm inviting my friends to join me in Sin City for some sinning. be there: April 19th. this was a last-minute idea i came up with yesterday, so i'm not sure how feasible it's going to be. but if you can make it, let me know.
what else? oh, last night, Corinne and i saw Spun on Netflix's dime. they gave us free tickets to a preview screening. (thank you, video rental company!) it was a funny, fucked up movie. think Trainspotting meets Requiem for a Dream. seriously messed up drug addicts, sex, drugs, drugs and drugs. it's a little frenetic, though. we left the theater feeling all kinds of wound up -- like we were the ones doing meth. it took us a good hour to calm down and get the movie out of our system. still, i recommend this flick. you won't see much advertising for it since it's unrated, so remember the name. in the City, it's playing at the Lumiere.
by the way, i am so fucking madly in love with my girlfriend. she is beyond hot. i cannot get enough of her.
that is all.
