thank you to all who came to my party on Saturday. it was ... well, it was a big, huge mess the next morning. and that's usually the sign of a good party. it was great to see those of you i already knew and great to meet those of you i didn't. your apple stabbing, Tiki God worshipping, wine spilling, water throwing, glass breaking, trash talking, chicken tailfeather admiring, door prize demanding, X-rated joke telling, gay man lap dancing, banana blow jobbing, and waiting on Corinne made my evening. pictures (and consequent blackmail) forthcoming.
for those of you who bedded early, Corinne did show up finally around midnight and was greeted by a greeting line. (which is usually what greeting lines are good for.) she merged right into the revelry and helped us finish off the night in grand fashion. as one person said later, Corinne seems "VERY tolerant of people being themselves. great catch!" yet another one of her many great attributes. now you see why i'm so smitten? thanks for being nice to her. she thought you were swell, too.
we spent most of Sunday morning asleep. i don't think we actually got out of bed until noon. when we finally did extract ourselves from the sheets, we cleaned up the apartment -- despite the post-apocalyptic look of it, it cleaned up quite quickly --, cleaned ourselves, and went to brunch at Ella's. yum, as always. then we spent some time just napping and talking and being together before heading over to Whole Foods to get ingredients for Cor's doctor dinner party thing. (that place is a complete nightmare of yuppies and inconsiderate fools on a Sunday night. i plan on avoiding it around then in the future.) i was pretty pooped but managed to rally in time for the get-together. lots of great people, lots of wine, lots of good food. highlights included apples and caramel to dip them in, Corinne's amazingly delicious mushroom "bruschetta", a really yummy squash soup with almond butter, and a mixed nut torte that demanded and got a second slice. oh, yes, and meeting all the interesting people she works with was lots of fun. we got home about 9:30p, watched a little Alias, watched a little Bond, then fell asleep and slept like rocks.
ah, weekend.
